What a great way to avoid the crappy winter storms that were beating the hell out of Seattle. We got on a plane after work on Friday and boozed, gambled and ate our way though the weekend in Vegas. Actually made it home with money in our pockets and no life threating hangovers.
It was the usual crew. Me, Tawn, Dan, Luke and Tye, Plus Dan’s brother Reed. A few stats for the weekend.
Worst hangover = Tawn
Least amount of sleep = Reed
Drunkest = Dan
Most hooker cards collected = Dan
Closest to getting arrested = Dan
We also met up with an old (Sorry LaDonna) high school friend there who was celebrating her b-day. So good times were had by all.
But back to the closets to getting arrested thing. We had been drinking alot (which is how these stories always start) and were wandering up and down the strip. We made our way to Treasure Island to catch the Pirate ship show thing but were disappointed once we got there because the whole thing was shut down for some sort of construction. But that did not mean we did not get a show. Tawn bet Dan $20 bucks that he would not walk across a plank, climb on to one of the pirate ships so we could take a picture. At first he did the smart thing and said no. Then on the way back, he came through like the champ he is and did it. This is when things started going wrong. Firstly, Tawn did not have a camera, so she used her phone. Which took way longer to do than you would think, which gave the security guys more than enough time to see what was going on and to run down to us. Full of civil disobedience and fueled by lots of booze :) we just kept walking and giving the rent-a-cops a hard time. It was all in good fun and funny as hell…..Tawn’s picture did not turn out. It was too dark. Perfect!!
As I mentioned before, we did not take our camera with us. I’m not sure what our problem is with carrying a camera, but we never seem to have it with us when we need it. Probably a good thing, less evidence and all that. But Tawn did manage to take a sweet picture with her camera phone that I think captures the essence of Vegas.
Behold the 4am breakfast at Fatburger with the Elvis impersonators (I’m the one in the red cap, not the red Jumpsuit):
Sounds like a good time was had by all.
I esp. like you and the Elvis’s.
MOM
Yeah, I thought that was a perfect touch to the weekend. Only in Vegas.
Half way through thier Burgers, somebody played an Elvis song on the Jukebox and these guys sat there and started singing. It was hilarious.
