Blackcomb POW POW!! (CB)

Booze did not fix Tawn Elbow. :( Her arm was hurting to much to risk snowboard today, so she hungout with Luke and Tye, while Dan, Reed and myself headed up Blackcomb Mountain for a day of snowboarding. And holy shit what a day it was. It had snowed almost two feet of powder overnight. I was exhausted from the day before’s snowboarding and the drinking as well. But all that was blasted way by the “Pow Pow”. Best run on the mountain was “In the Sprit” a blackdiamond tree run. Holy shit, is all I can say.
Both mountains were awesome, but I perferred Blackcomb over Whistler.

That night we went down to The Dubliner, an irish pub in the Village. We had a good night of boozing and listening to what ever cheesy request music the musician was playing. I will say he was very reluctant to play anything requested by me. I’m not sure why, but it made for some good comedy. He finally did give in and play “Whiskey in the Jar”.

Winter Storms (CB)

We have had some crazy weather around here these last couple months. Tuesday night the wind was really blowing and the boat was bobbing around pretty good. At about 4am I was awoke by a combination of the boat moving about and the sound of the wind howling.

I got up and had a look around to make sure we were not blowing away or getting blown into our nieghbors boats or that they were not blowing into us. I also wanted to know just how hard the wind was blowing, so I turned on the instruments and checked the wind gauge. It was blowing a steady 20-25knots and gusting to 42knots, which is almost 50mph!!!

Wednesday night was pretty calm, but this is supposed to be the calm before the storm. Tonight (thursday) it is supposed to blow and storm even harder.

I better recheck the dock lines and make sure everything that is’nt tied down gets tied down.

Christmas at the Marina (Tawn)

There is a contest at the Marina for who can light up Shilshole Bay the brightest. So of course I had to put my best foot forward. Six 25′ strands of old timey bulbs, two strands of white twinkle lights and one christmas wreath later….we have sufficiently lit up the marina. Just hope the neighbors aren’t too annoyed!!!

SNOW?! (CB)

Welp, this is a first for us. It snowed tonight. It didn’t last very long but we probably got an inch or two before it turned to rain. Just enough time to build a small but pathetic snow man.

Sad snowman

And take the jeep out to the nearest empty parking lot and spin a bunch of donuts :)

It is cool to see your boat with snow on the decks. It just does not happen all that often.

Snow on Deck
Sorry, no pictures of the donuts in the parking lot.
